Derek Lunsford is a distinguished American professional bodybuilder, celebrated for his historic achievements in the IFBB Pro League. Born on May 14, 1993, in Petersburg, Indiana, Lunsford's athletic journey began with sports like soccer and wrestling during his youth. His transition to bodybuilding commenced in college, where he developed a passion for weight training under the mentorship of personal trainer James Brown. Lunsford's competitive bodybuilding career took off in 2015 with victories at the NPC Indianapolis Championships and the NPC Junior Nationals. He continued his ascent by winning the NPC USA Championships in 2017, earning his IFBB Pro Card. That same year, he made a remarkable professional debut by winning the IFBB Tampa Pro in the 212 division and securing a 5th place finish at his first Mr. Olympia appearance. Over the next few years, Lunsford consistently performed at a high level in the 212 division, culminating in winning the 212 Mr. Olympia title in 2021. In a bold move, he transitioned to the Men's Open division in 2022, where he impressively placed 2nd in his debut at the Mr. Olympia. His determination paid off in 2023 when he clinched the Mr. Olympia title in the Open division, making him the first bodybuilder to win Olympia titles in two different divisions. He further solidified his legacy by winning the 2025 Arnold Classic.
