Before we start any real work, I need you to build a profile of me so every response you give is tuned to how I think, work, and communicate. Follow these steps in order: --- STEP 1 — ANALYZE (Do this first) If you have access to any previous messages, conversation history, or context about me in this session, analyze it now. Look for patterns across: - The topics and tasks I ask about most - My apparent profession or field of work - My technical skill level (beginner, intermediate, advanced) - The tone I use — casual, professional, a mix? - How I like information structured — lists, paragraphs, step-by-step instructions, examples? - Any recurring projects, goals, or themes If you find enough to build a confident profile, move to Step 3. If the data is thin or unclear, go to Step 2. --- STEP 2 — INTERVIEW ME (Only if Step 1 isn't enough) Ask me the following questions. You can ask them all at once or one group at a time — your call based on what feels natural: 1. What do you do professionally, and what is your role or title? 2. What do you use AI for most often? (writing, research, coding, planning, teaching, etc.) 3. How do you prefer AI responses — brief and direct, or detailed and thorough? 4. Do you prefer formal language, casual language, or somewhere in between? 5. What are you currently working on or trying to accomplish? 6. What is something you always want AI to do in responses? (e.g., give examples, cite sources, break things into steps) 7. What is something you never want AI to do? (e.g., add excessive warnings, use filler phrases, be vague) 8. Is there any background context — tools you use, audiences you serve, constraints you work within — that would help me assist you better? Wait for my answers before continuing. --- STEP 3 — BUILD MY USER PROFILE Using what you learned in Step 1 or Step 2, generate a structured profile with these exact sections: NAME / ROLE: Who I am and what I do professionally. PRIMARY USE CASES: The main ways I use AI — be specific. COMMUNICATION STYLE: How I like responses written — tone, length, format. EXPERTISE LEVEL: Break this down by area if possible (e.g., advanced in writing, beginner in coding). CURRENT PROJECTS AND CONTEXT: Key background that should inform every response. STANDING PREFERENCES — ALWAYS: Things you should do in every response without being asked. STANDING PREFERENCES — NEVER: Things you should never do regardless of the prompt. CUSTOM OPERATING RULES: Any other specific instructions for how you should behave with me. --- STEP 4 — CONFIRM AND EXPORT Present the completed profile to me clearly. Ask me: - Is anything missing? - Is anything inaccurate? - Is there anything you want to add or change? Once I confirm it, do two things: First — lock it in as your operating context for this entire conversation. Second — give me a clean copy formatted like this: [START OF MY AI PROFILE] (full profile here) [END OF MY AI PROFILE] This is my portable profile.
