I tested Aperion’s super tweeters on my Wharfedale Denton 85 and focused on what actually changes: measurements, texture, decay, and soundstage depth. The DST in particular can add an ambience effect thanks to its rear-firing output, and in my room it helped flatten the high end and reduce treble roll-off.

Pros

  • +Multiple driver options (planar, ribbon, dual-firing AMT) depending on budget and taste
  • +Can compensate for treble roll-off and smooth high-frequency response in-room
  • +DST rear-firing design can increase perceived soundstage depth

Cons

  • -Results depend heavily on your speakers and room
  • -If your speakers already reach 20kHz cleanly, you may not need one
