3. Holly Loughton – Strategic Co-Production

Co-Production in Action Conference 3 March 2022 Holly Loughton - (Let’s Get Personal Group Volunteer) Holly was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease in her mid-20s, and life changed. Over time Holly has developed a passion for encouraging other people with chronic health conditions to see themselves as more than just their diagnoses. Holly believes it’s important to acknowledge the many and varied transferrable skills she has gained through learning to navigate life with the added complications a chronic illness can bring. Through her writing, public speaking and various leadership roles, she has developed a rapidly growing platform that allows her to advocate for patient choice, shared decision making and better mental health support for those with chronic conditions. ‘’By recognising the ability to keep my own wishes and the things that matter to me at the heart of my treatment decisions is what has allowed me to cope with the sometimes very challenging circumstances I have had to face.’’
