Digital Control of Europe’s Power Grid: Stability in the Age of Renewables

As Europe rapidly increases the share of renewable energy, maintaining the stability of the electricity grid is becoming more complex. This workshop provides a system-level perspective on how Europe’s power grid is monitored and controlled, focusing on digitalization, frequency stability and system responses to disturbances. Drawing on extensive experience from within the European electricity sector, Dr. Petr Korba will explain how grid operators maintain reliability and resilience as the energy system transitions toward renewables.
