SUPERNOVA - A Short Film

After 9 long years and many life hurtles and technical difficulties, I am finally releasing "Supernova" a short film very close to my heart. Shot in New York City with very little money and with the help of just two friends, we embarked on an unforgettable filming journey, full of laughs, tears, mistakes, and what felt like impossible achievements. Shot after shot. The story follows Nova, a young girl living in NYC and doing what she can to survive and deal with her past trauma. We become observers in a slice of her life. A moment in time where survival becomes not enough. A choice must be made. A choice for change. Through pain she may find her answer. Shot on an A7s and A7r with a Ronin, and just a few small LED lights, the making of supernova embodies indy low budget filmmaking at its core. It wasn't a smooth process and definitely not a way of shooting I would recommend if you can help it, but we got it done. Sometimes that is all that matters in the face of adversity and lack of money. There was a story to tell for this film and I didn't want anything to come in the way of it. Even though it did, which is why we are here 9 years later haha. But at least we are here and I hope you will enjoy the film.
