I just finished a Music Video and I wanted to share what I learned in the process of making it. Shop my Cinematic VFX collection at https://filmfx.store Music videos require a lot of planning and organization but thats not the only thing that can make or brake your music video. Getting the right performance out of talent and choosing an appropriate shot composition are just a few more things that, if done right, can improve your music video quite a bit. Here is a quick list of the things we will be talking about: ~Story is just as important in Music Videos as any other form of filmmaking ~Get a solid concept and share it with whoever is paying for the gig ~Stay within budget and time constraints ~Make a shot list for each day ~Make a schedule for each position ~Don't hide away from who is paying for the gig ~Get talent comfortable prior to shooting in order to get the right performance ~More movement in wide shots - Less movement in close ups ~Roll as much as you can. You may get the right expressions and movement from talent in between takes or during a rehearsal. ~Experiment and be creative ~Match the mood of the song with camera movements ~Cut to the groove of the song but not necessarily to the beat. COLOR IN POST Grade your footage to the tone of the scene MUSIC VIDEO MENTIONED: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5eg75wBBQM MUSIC Produced by WOLFE - https://soundcloud.com/ajsalvatore CARLOS MARTINS - https://soundcloud.com/djcarlosmartins VIDEO Gavin Ash - https://www.youtube.com/user/TheGavinAsh Sean Christopher Weaver Heath Neptune Maria Gabriela Garcia - IG: @mariigaabz INSTAGRAM: http://instagram.com/kriscoart TWITTER: https://twitter.com/kriscoart FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com/kriscoart Kriscoart is a filmmaking channel and company based on the core values to Learn, Create, Share.
