In this video I am working on a Peek-a-boo Geode Wood Grain 20 oz. Tumbler. I started with the epoxy method to add my glitter in a Geode design all around and down the bottom edge of the tumbler. I sealed the Glitter with matte clear spray paint and put a layer of Faux Rizzle Resin over the Glitter and let it cure for 24 hours. After the layer of resin was cured, I placed pieces of painters tape to mark the inside of the tumbler where the geode design were, and then sprayed a coat of Gold spray paint, Black spray paint and then white spray paint over the entire cup. To achieve the wood grain effect I used Alcohol Ink in Latte, Ginger and Sepia and a brush with course bristles. Using 91% alcohol to move the alcohol inks into a pattern. I used Acetone on a paper towel to remove the ink and spray paint to reveal the geode design. Before adding the top coat of resin, I coated the cup with Clear Matte Spray paint to seal the ink.
