Dragon Moon with Alcohol Ink, Aluminum Foil, Vinyl and Resin - Part 1

Dragon Moon was created on a 12" Birch Wood Round using Alcohol Inks, Aluminum Foil, Vinyl and Resin. Aluminum Foil creates the texture for the valley and the Trees in the foreground. The dragon is hand cut from Black Vinyl and then covered with a layer of Dragonfly Glaze which adds a holographic sheen to the surface of the dragon and the Moon is cut from Holgraphic Vinyl I started the board with several layers of yellow and blue spray paint and then 3 coats of UV Archival Spray in Matte to seal the board. After attaching the aluminum foil to the board with Modge Podge, I tinted it with a mixture of Black, Blue and Purple Alcohol Inks and then using 91% Alcohol I blended the colors on to the board and aluminum foil. For the sky line I used Yellow, Orange, and Magenta mixed with the 91% Alcohol Ink. The first coat of resin was clear and then using small amounts I tinted the resin with the same alcohol inks as I used on the board and just streamed the tinted resin onto the board. After curing I added the smaller aluminum trees and the holographic vinyl moon to the board and allowed them to dry. Next I add the coat of resin on top of the moon and trees and allowed it to cure again. I also added small amount of the ink tinted resin around and over the moon and in between the tree branches.
