Pimento Cheese

Pimento cheese may have the nickname as the Pate Of The South" but don't let that fool you. It is a workhorse ingredient!! My cookbook can be ordered from my website or by mailing a check or money order for $30 to Kimmy's Southern Cooking PO box 154 Higden AR 72067 Order from my website www.kimmyssoutherncooking.com 1 lb block American cheese, shredded or favorite cheese 1½ c mayonnaise 1 (4 oz) jar of pimentos, drained 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce 1 tsp onion powder ½ tsp ground red pepper 1 tsp salt or to taste ½ tsp black pepper In a large mixing bowl, mix all ingredients until well combined. Cover and chill. Flavor will develop more as it sits. A stand mixer or hand mixer can be used or a large spatula. Blocks of American cheese can be found behind the deli counter. This is a good substitute for the cheese in sausage balls and makes a great grilled cheese sandwich or topping for a hamburger. Also, great stuffed in a celery rib. #arkansas #pimentocheese
