Willow Charcoal Sticks, Assorted Sizes

Willow charcoal is one of my favorite dry media options for this DIY watercolor method because it grinds down more easily than waxy colored pencils. Once you make a little pile of powder, you can mix it with binder and paint with it right away. It’s a simple, accessible way to experiment with handmade blacks and grays.
