This is the MeiLiang “Pretty Excellent” 48-color set I’m reviewing and testing for performance and lightfast concerns. I think it’s a fantastic practice set for serious beginners, but I’m cautious about undisclosed fugitive colors and anything you’d want to be archival.
Pros
- +Affordable way to get a large range of colors for practice
- +Good for sketchbooks, crafts, and learning color theory
Cons
- -Some colors may be fugitive or have questionable lightfast ratings
- -Possible fluorescent dye additives depending on the color
