My new Vespa Sprint 150 S has already been through its first service (1000km/621 mile). Surprisingly, the $334.64 service (even with me bringing my own engine oil) didn't include changing the gear oil. In the maintenance schedule it states the gear oil doesn't need attention until the 10,000km (6200 mile service)....that's a lot of mileage on unfiltered gear oil, IMO. I decided to follow the example of seasoned vespa mechanics like Robot from Vespa Motorsports, and the dealers I spoke with over the phone. This is my preemptive service change of the gear oil on a Vespa i-Get 150 engine. What do you think? Would you have ran it till the 6200 mile service?
