Tension rod

This tension rod was my no-drill solution for creating a removable kitchen rail over tile. It felt really sturdy, and I loved that I can take it down easily if we move or if I change my mind later.

What Karla Elisa says

[Music] hey everyone welcome back to my channel it's caralisa here and I'm still in the process of refreshing my home doing a total reset after the holidays for a new year and in this video I'm going to be focusing in my kitchen and as you may know I've been repainting my home my main living areas to create a more bright and Airy space and now that I have a complete blank slate in my kitchen I'm ready to start redecorating keeping the sense of this time of the year keeping it cozy and neutral but also bringing in some hints of the spring season so I hope that you enjoy this video thank you so much for watching and let's get into this hungry fresh all right and here we are in our kitchen and I have already removed the previous decor and just keeping the essentials I'm first going to be doing a quick wipe down to have a nice fresh and clean spaces to start redecorating I'm using old recent and some newest Decor but mostly Decor that I already have at home and for this time of the year I always like to keep my Decor more simple and neutral to get ready for an early spring that means means refreshing the space with light Airy but subtle touches that welcome the season but keeping the warm filling with other warm earthy colors while going through this cold season [Music] [Music] so I wanted to start with this award corner I always like to have a source of Li in here since it's a darker space and I wanted to swap for this smaller table lamp that I actually got last year from the hear and hand the fall collection and I just kept to add it this year here in my press spring Decor but I wanted to First ground that area with that rounded cutting board that I actually got at Target last year creating a nice contrast I'm taking out one of my favorite bread cutting BS that I got at H&M and this beautiful vintage inspired bread cutting B it's perfect to add a punch of warm to this white kitchen for now I'm keeping things warmer and neutral while it's still winter transition into a brighter spring decor and next to the lamp I'm bringing in this gorgeous and small Wen face with just a subtle Touch of AUM stem to start bringing that subtle brace of [Music] spring but now we have this empty wall behind the stuff that I would love to add something Charming I always wanted to add a kitchen rail here over my stove to add a little basket with flowers for spring summer or just small kitchen decor or some vintage pieces or vintage fountains for my kitchen decor but I always was so scared on drilling this style because this is not going to be our for her home probably in the future we are going to be moving out and there's no way to repair this tile unless I replace it so I needed something more practical that I can easily remove just in case I get tired of it or we move out in the future so I found extension Rod at Target and it seems to be very starty I can feel that it's very strong and also I love the color because it's a bronze color and I really would love to try it in my kitchen so let's try it and see if this can work for my Decor I order a vintage piece from Etsy to hang up here and also I'm going to be adding some other details to decorate this space so let's try this [Music] [Applause] [Music] and I also got these metal S hooks at Walmart and I found them in the same bronze color so I got the perfect matching for this kitchen roil I always wanted to add a woven basket and I'm using what I already have at home so I got this mediumsized woing hanging basket at Michaels last year that I also used in my spring decor and I knew was going to be perfect because it's a skinny and it won't take up too much space and just adding a subtle floral touch with a single serum stem I ordered a true vintage copper pen from Etsy and wow I couldn't be happier the copper color it's beautiful the real patina and the old look and I love the gold handle and I was keeping an eye for a piece like this to be collecting but I just needed a space to display it and for the next item hanging on this red rack I got two options and first the sharming bras gold picture that I got an NX store last year and this is how it looks and the second option is the largest one whole measuring cups and since it's a larger one sometimes doesn't fit well in the drawer so I would rather keeping it hanging here so I opted for this option not only I like the wood in brass gold but also so it'll be practical to me and of course I'll will be removing this hanging basket when cooking and just switching to a nice window Nook floal [Music] Decor but now for the left side of the stove I'm bringing this pedestal Razer that I DIY to make it look old and I'm also adding on top that beautiful stun M that I got from Etsy and I shared the link for you and many of you loved it and it it's perfect to add the DraStic old world detail I'm adding a simple olive leaf and to make it practical and keeping here my garlic that is unessential when I'm [Music] cooking and next on my Peninsula I'm adding this cutting board my favorite from H&M a rectangular one one that I was gifted by a good friend and this rounded one that I got at Hobby Lobby 2 years ago to create a visually pleasing grouping and dynamic mix of contrast for more warmth to this white kitchen and when I went to Michael's I found the seated eucalyptus stems that not only are perfect for a transitional greenity from Winter to Spring but also a pretty greenity to complement with flowers for an spring Arrangement that prob hope I'll be doing later when decorating for spring I love how those seeds looks like little butts when the flowers are about to bloom for spring and by the way I added a piece of flal foam to stick the stems into it to keep it straight just bending a little bit of branches to create a more wild natural [Music] look and next I'm adding this pretty w wavy Edge woman basket that I got from the studio Magi spring collection at Target and just adding some pop of color which is apples for everyone [Music] here and this is the lamp that I previously had in my stud Contour area since one single table lamp is not enough I like to add this extra table lamp on this area that I usually t on at night for my Island I'm adding one of my vintage Treasures that Chinese M that I got at small vintage store and looking for a year round greenity I found this beautiful twigy Wisteria stems and I love how realistic sparse and long this are without to mention that the best part is that they are very affordable and this combo it's giving me of that statement high-end look and just adding and lighting a candle to bring those cozy Vibes I got this candle with the rattin wob lid at Marshall and it's one of my favorites and it will be the first time lighting this one and smell delicious and now let's move on to decorate the shelves up there starting with the lower one and bringing to this small Corner that the vintage inspired W art that I got at Hobby Lobby last year and I love the soft almost pastel green colors perfect to break into the spring to add that sweet floral touch I'm adding that small face and I fed up with baby breath I'm adding my favorite earthy Vibes bowls just to help making some space in the cabinets and then next to them my favorite glazed picture bringing all the soft earthy Vibes on here on the upper shelf I'm keeping more simple just placing that pretty vintage inspir wall art and my antique collected pieces that I got in a vintage [Music] store and for my coffee Contour area I'm just removing the wall art and tray and then just swapping for that smaller razor that I got from mag yeno and that's it just to keep it simple for a while I love these soft Brown kitchen towels that I got from har and hand last year at Target and next I'm coming to my table or tiny table and I'm doing a quick white down before adding something else [Music] in the meantime I'm getting ready for spring I wanted to keep this tiny table very simple and practical so I'm just bringing my marble Lacy susam just adding my salt and pepper Grinders and I always have to get a set of custers so I'm bringing this wooden bitted set to the table per usual and that's it this is our table very simple for now just Essentials and our kitchen now redecorated in our way to [Music] [Music] Spring and that's it for today's video thank you so much for watching I hope that you enjoy and you got a lot of inspiration to start breaking into the spring season but keeping the coziness and warm feeling for this cold time of the year and see you in my next video bye [Music]
