Join me as I demonstrate a simple yet effective method for preparing crispy fries using beef fat. This cooking guide shows how to achieve perfectly golden french fries by deep-frying crinkle-cut potatoes in a blend of beef fat and canola oil. You'll learn how to cook these delicious potatoes for a satisfying side dish every time. Beef tallow makes your French fries taste incredible — but at $25+ a jar, how much do you actually need? I set up a fryer with 150 ounces of canola oil and added Wagyu beef tallow in ¼-cup increments, testing flavor at every level. The jump from ¼ cup to ½ cup was dramatic. After 1 cup? Nothing. I found the exact sweet spot where your money stops mattering and your fries stop improving. 🔥 The answer: 1 cup of beef tallow per 19 cups of canola oil. Maximum flavor, minimum waste. ✅ Tested with Ore Ida crinkle-cut frozen fries for a repeatable, practical test ✅ Covers tallow cost, storage, filtration, and shelf life after frying ✅ Side-by-side flavor comparison at 5 tallow ratios If you're spending money on beef tallow, don't overuse it. Use this ratio and your fries will taste like steak — without emptying your wallet. 👇 What's your tallow ratio? Drop it in the comments.
