Hey loves—this is episode 3 (part one) of my spring cleaning series, and we are doing an extreme kitchen reset the “right way.” I’m talking taking things apart, deep cleaning appliances, and getting into all the gross little areas we usually avoid. I start by getting all my supplies ready (I love an equal parts water + vinegar spray with a few drops of essential oils—lemon and lavender are my go-to), and I always set the mood with uplifting scents because we’re about to clean some nasty spaces. The biggest project was my oven. I vacuumed out the crumbs, pulled the bottom heating element (two screws in my oven), and tested The Pink Stuff Paste—then I went full onion/ogre mode and took apart the oven door to clean four layers of glass. The difference was shocking. I also tried Easy-Off Fume Free on my oven racks and it honestly did nothing for me, even after extra time, so I ended up trying the dishwasher and even a power washer (still no luck). From there, I deep cleaned the microwave (including the greasy underside), scrubbed the grates, took apart and cleaned the dishwasher filter and attachments (ew), refreshed it with Lemi Shine, polished up my sink with the paste, steam-cleaned the window and sliding door tracks, and finally tackled the top cabinets—crumbs, honey spills, expired spices and all. This is the kind of reset that makes the whole house feel less overwhelming.
