I’m in Stuttgart, Germany at the Mercedes-Benz Museum for something that genuinely feels like a career highlight: the 140th birthday of Mercedes-Benz and the global premiere of the new (2026) S-Class. I take you through the atmosphere of the launch event—full orchestra, iconic S-Class generations on display, and a night that felt like it connected every era of Mercedes innovation in one place. The wild part is I also got to be in a video with Mercedes-Benz CEO Ola Källenius for a world’s first preview leading up to this premiere. From there, I give you a full walk-through tour of the car and the design refinements. Mercedes says this is the biggest refresh in S-Class history—over 50% of parts redesigned or re-engineered—and you can see it in the new prestige-focused grille (20% larger), the optional illuminated badge, and the mini LED headlight and taillight star signatures. We also talk tech that’s very “future Mercedes,” like integrated cameras and systems that detect potholes/bumps, send that data to the cloud, and adapt the suspension for comfort.
