Motherboard

I went with the Gigabyte X870I AORUS Pro ICE because I needed two M.2 slots for editing storage, and the I/O is pretty decent with USB 3.2 and USB-C. I didn’t care too much about looks since you barely see it in the case, but the all-white design actually looks really clean when you do catch a glimpse of it.

Pros

  • +Supports two M.2 drives (huge for editing storage)
  • +Decent rear I/O with USB 3.2 and USB-C
  • +Clean all-white look

Cons

  • -Second M.2 slot on the back means you have to remove/flip the board to install

What Justin Tech says

Starting with the motherboard, I went with the Gigabyte X870i Aurorus Pro Ice
So, I flipped over the board, mounted it, and screwed it in with the included screw that comes with the motherboard
Before mounting the motherboard in the case, I installed the bracket for my cooler, the Arctic Liquid Freezer 3 Pro 280
If you're also building in the NKM2, I recommend installing the standoffs onto the motherboard first
I got this tip from the goat himself, Optimum Tech, as I was following his build guide during this video because I had no idea what I was doing, and it made mounting it to the motherboard tray way easier
