About This Video

In this video I’m turning my garage into the home gym I’ve been wanting for a long time—something that actually feels good to train in, but also fits my real life as a full-time cinematographer. I walk through the whole build from the top down: painting the space (I went with BEHR Black Locust), adding overhead storage so the garage doesn’t turn into a dumping ground, and dialing in the lighting with those hexagon LED panels so it doesn’t feel like a dark cave. From there I get into the stuff that makes it a “real” gym: rubber stall mats to protect the floor and keep things stable, mirrors for training feedback, and airflow with a big garage fan because training in a stagnant garage is miserable. The centerpiece is the RitFit Buffalo functional trainer / smith setup—this is what makes the space versatile without needing a million separate machines. I also show how I’m organizing cable attachments, setting up a TV + soundbar mount for workouts, and finishing it off with REP Quick Draw adjustable dumbbells to save space while still having quick weight changes.
