Is Kona Grill Alpharetta Worth the Hype? | Hosted Luxury Dining Review | Living Noire Ep. 18

Welcome to Episode 18 of the Living Noire Luxe Food Series — where luxury dining, sisterhood, and honest reviews meet. This week, we were hosted by Kona Grill Alpharetta — a modern bar and grill serving American classics with Asian-inspired twists. The atmosphere was surprisingly elevated, with an open-air bar and chic casual setting that’s perfect for weekend dinners or after-work hangs. We started with Avocado Egg Rolls ($21) — crispy, creamy, and full of flavor — and Kona Meatballs ($23), which were tender, sticky, and sweet, easily the highlight of the night. The Asian Salad with Grilled Chicken ($20 + $8) was fresh but light on dressing and seasoning. For mains, Kim tried the Sweet Chili Glazed Salmon ($37), which had a nice glaze but under-seasoned rice, while Keyondra’s Stuffed Salmon ($39) from the Holiday Cheer menu looked great but lacked flavor. The Sweet Chili Green Beans ($9) were crisp and well-balanced, and dessert turned everything around — the Butter Cake ($15) was warm, rich, and hands down one of the best desserts we’ve had this year. By the entrées, we were ready to “tell Mom,” but the butter cake changed everything. Between that and the meatballs, Kona Grill earned a bump up on the Mama Meter.
