I use 2 virtual firewalls in a highly available setup which allows me to play with my homelab and break things, without breaking the network for the rest of the house. In this video I discuss some of the benefits of this approach and show you how to set it up using Proxmox and Sophos XG. The same principle applies to OpnSense and PfSense and this is a great feature if you're not already using a dedicated physical firewall.
