Why the M1 iMac Makes Sense

Okay. M1 iMac. It's the latest iMac with an M1 processor. Apple refreshed the design and now it looks like an oversized iPad slapped onto onto a cheap amazon ipad stand. But honestly I like the look, and here's the rest of my thoughts on this product. Let's start with looks since everyone likes to bring that one up. Techy people seem to hate the design. The bezels are white which doesn't make it immersive for creative content creators, and the colors are colorful to the point that there's no gray or black colorway. I think there's a reason for this right? That there's no black bezels or neutral colorways. It's because this machine is not created for those types of people. When I look at this, I see family computer. In their marketing materials, these machines are often used in family spaces. These machines are colored in a way that they fit in with furniture. When I ask my more normal friends, not to say tech savy people aren't normal. But my more casual friends about how these colors look. They like them. You have to look at this machine as if a family is buying it or it's being used in a common space. And when you do, it starts to make more sense. For example, my own wife, right? She has her own dedicated space in our house that she uses as her office. And it's a room where the primary color scheme is pink. A normal silver iMac would fit fine in that space, but it would stand out a tiny bit. But she's particular about how objects in the space fit in with its surroundings and this one would fit the aesthetic of the space much better and not stick out. In contrast, you take a look at my space, where things are more practical, and my goal is to create content and not necessarily care as much for aesthetics the M1 would not be what I'm looking for in a desktop. It's great, especially in laptops but I'd want something even stronger. And that's where a future bigger, and darker bezeled iMac comes into play, probably one with an M1X. Or whatever apple calls their higher powered version. That future mystery machine would be the desktop that best suit a content creator. Basically I'm saying that this iMac is more for little timmy and tommy to play roblox on and somehow get the keys to feel a bit sticky, and not for the youtubers out there making 4K documentaries of the latest YouTube drama. That's a bit exaggerated, but you know what I mean. Now, the starting price is $1,300 for the base model and $1,500 for one with 4 ports, a ethernet port on the power brick, touch id on the keyboard, and an extra gpu core. I would argue that the $1,500 model is the one to get. I tend to notice, the type of people who buy iMacs keep them for a while, I know I did, and you're getting better value out of that $1,500 one, and you'll appreciate having more ports, graphical power, and touch id. Some people have concerns about the overall price, and some have even compared it to the Mac Mini Apple's cheapest desktop. While that's probably the best value mac out there right now, that's not a complete system. You can't just plop it down, plug in the power cable and off you go. The M1 iMac comes with a webcam, speaker, and 4.5k display built-in in along with a color matched keyboard and mouse provided. You have to buy all those things for a mac mini. By that point. If you add in the cost of all of those. The Mac Mini is slightly cheaper but still lacks features that are in the M1 iMac. The most important part is, the Mac Mini requires a ton of cables to get all those accessories setup and running. the M1 iMac? You plug in one cable, wirelessly connect the keyboard and mouse and you're good to go, which again makes it perfect for a family. Easy to use and easy to understand. So yeah, I think this iMac is going to be a super popular machine among the average apple consumer. The Design is colorful and reminiscent of the colorful and iconic iMac G3 and ibook G3 designs that people loved. Either way. In terms of Desktop Macs. Here's my own bold prediction, it won't be the Mac Mini or Future Mysterious M1X iMac that will sell the best, but the M1 iMac. When these go up for pre-order, I'll be buying one to review. But maybe my opinion will change after that review and I'll eat words. Subscribe to see that and let me know what you think about the M1 iMac in the comments below. Where there any other products in that apple event that caught your attention? Leave all that in the comment section below and I'll see you all next time. Bye.
