It was once one of the nation's most top-secret facilities, but now all people of all nationalities are welcome to tour the B Reactor at the WWII-era Hanford site in Southeastern Washington state, USA. In this video I show you around the B Reactor... including not just the outside of the reactor itself, but also the reactor control room and several other interesting parts of the facility. I also give you a quick overview of the history of the place... from how it was rushed in to construction and completed in less than one year... to how instrumental it was in ending World War II. It also played a vital role in creating a credible deterrent to the Russians during the cold war by providing the plutonium needed for the US nuclear arsenal. If you'd like to learn more about the B-reactor, head over to www.b-reactor.org If you enjoyed this video, you may also enjoy a video I did about a famous nuclear submarine that set a world's record... and which now sits just a few miles from the B reactor in southeastern Washington.
