Indestructible books are my go-to for travel because I don’t stress about them getting ruined in the car. My toddler loves books, and these are just the easiest option for road trips when you want something that can take a beating.
“so i like to mostly use clear containers like this or open boxes when i'm packing things for road trips just because it's easier to see what's inside of them and then anyone can find it because you are often asking other people to grab things so we use a suitcase for our clothes where i use these planet-wise packing cubes to organize all my kids clothes they each have a color and then i put them all in one suitcase and that makes it really nice and then we have a duffel bag usually for diapers and wipes but um this is everything else for the most part that we'll be throwing inside the car except for a few baby items so i have this smaller one that's just a bunch of card games we like to play and then there is this bigger container here now when we get there i have a grocery pickup order that we'll be getting and i could add some of these things to that but since i bought a lot of these things in bulk i just didn't want to get like one miscellaneous one on the trip so we have one costco paper towels thing just in case we have a lysol we have more gains just here on the side which i'm not going to pull out but it's basically all stacked in on this side i have the toys for my daughter's little toy bar play gym thing that will stick on them i have laundry detergent because we do have a washer and dryer there sunscreen and i also need to stick some aloe vera in here some tape and scissors just in case then as you guys can see i have some dish soap that i like to use to wash the bottles we have the little accessories the boon rack is there on the bottom if you can see under the gains the formula container and then the lysol wipes and that's all just stuff that's kind of categorized as things that need to go inside of the kitchen area all right now for our food set up on trips so i have a container similar to the one that i just showed you guys but it's a little bit smaller so it can fit in between our seats and i'm hoping to show you guys it inside of our van but it usually goes in the middle row kind of like if you had captain chairs so it fits there and we'll have that one there and then we'll have this igloo either on top but most likely at my feet along with her bottles so we actually have two of these so one will go by me for my husband and i and my toddler and then one will go in the back in between my five and seven year old so they have access to different fruit and cheese and different things like that and then i'm making sandwiches for lunch so we have these containers that they'll go in for that and they can have it whenever they want i have a water bottle for my five-year-old and my toddler and then my son has a slightly bigger red water bottle i think it's by the same brand but then they all just have their own water that's accessible and like i said i'll just fill this with kind of the fresher snack so they're not just eating junk food the whole way up then for those dry snacks or if they want a variety of fruit i'll probably only do that with my toddler i got these and the idea is that i'll just pass them back if they want some of the dried snacks that i have it gives them five different choices it's really easy to open up and then if i want to just quickly wipe it clean before switching it to something else for my toddler i can do that my kids all know how to open it and shut it and i'm really excited about that i've actually thought about getting these for a long time to put inside my diaper bag but i was hesitant and then the sensible mama started carrying it and i got it the same day that she did a live on it so super excited to be using these i have one in each color so the coral the gray and i think this is teal and yeah so for each of my kids my toddler my five-year-old my seven-year-old then just depending where we are at i will either feed her a bottle while i'm holding her or there is the straw option where i can stick it in her car seat and she can just suck it like a pacifier i have a picture here my son has done it and actually built all my kids have except for my first but my daughter i did it with breast milk when she was a little bit younger and then she didn't really like bottles and then my third i did it quite a few times and it's just so nice when i'm making dinner it's nice to be able to feed them in the burp when we're on the road it's nice to be able to give them something and not have to hold it up on those long rides and stuff so it just makes it a little bit convenient but definitely not for everyone but if you are interested i will link all this stuff down below and i usually just have a thing of water by my feet all right so my toddler is the easiest one to pack these for he has just some little squiggies and these sesame street toys and what's really fun is that these actually stick to the container so he has used them to stick his little people all over he can stick them up here and build little towers and things and just has a lot of fun with it but i love that you can use the container to build these little things and you can utilize it also he'll be really excited about that now with the whole pack i pretty much just did two of every shape and that's what could fit inside of here and then about five of these little figurines that came in a bigger pack but yeah it fit quite a bit and i know he'll be super excited about that because these are some of his favorites then with my daughter she didn't want eyes on hers so we didn't put the sticker on hers but she has a little polly pocket birthday set in here so she could also fit her little disney princesses in here but i got her this one um to use on the trip and then the container she can use to kind of organize it with and what i like also kind of with the one i just showed you is that she can set up all of her stuff here on the lid on the go and actually play with it and she's not getting frustrated like it's gonna fall over but it would also fall over at our house but for the most part if we're not having a super bumpy ride this is pretty stable for her to keep this stuff on like i mean this is just a large object so lots of clothes lots of fun accessories she'll organize it however she wants and that's what's inside of her little bucket then my oldest who is our creator and the first one to get one of these boxes he has stolen the little plate for my toddler because it'll be a while before he uses these and then he has his little plate and the nice thing about this is he'll be able to sort the pieces as he does each little kit but i got him a three in one kit and i just divided them by kit in little sandwich bags so he'll be able to dump it out in this tray and find the pieces he needs based on whichever one he chooses but it's all able to fit inside of here and the instructions and everything folds well inside of there so i happy about that and then i have a ton of stuff i'm going to show you guys that we're using in the car but the stuff i have in the containers i don't usually like them to bring into our hotel because it just gets messy and you lose a lot of stuff so these are the toys that they're going to be allowed to play in the hotel or whatever and use because it's easy for them to grab and keep inside they can play around the area with it and they're not going to be dragging it all over because they'll like setting it up in this and i'm just going to show you guys the other stuff we have packed up so this container is the one that's going to be up by me because it's for my toddler and my baby girl you saw that was clear so it's easy for me to tell which one is supposed to be up by us and which one's supposed to be back with my kids but it just has a lot of activities for my toddler and then my little girl so if she's having trouble sleeping we do have this portable sound machine we actually have a couple the only reason i like this one for when we're traveling is it uses triple a batteries and i don't have to worry about charging it i'll just carry some batteries which is what this is it's just extra batteries if i need it and it's just easier for traveling like i said so i don't have to worry about another charging cord then i have this for my toddler he loves buckling and unbuckling things so he'll play forever with that and then my little girl has all of these fun things now that she's interested in grabbing stuff and biting on stuff this was my toddler son's favorite rattle as a baby it's off right now there's a little button you turn on but yeah so she's got a variety of stuff here but the rest is to entertain my toddler so i have a pencil sharpener which i almost forgot to add guys you kind of need that with colored pencils i don't like doing crowns in the summer because they can melt then i have a ton of indestructible books i like these because i'm less worried about them getting ruined and my son loves reading books so these are the easiest ones for travel but i do have some of his favorites so this is one of his favorite books it's been my kids favorite books for a long long time i got him this book because he loves baby shark he got this book for christmas and it's one of his favorites because he can tell when to hit the little buttons on it and then this one i actually got from my oldest son he wasn't really interested in it like six months ago and i just stuck it in our um closet or toy closet but i figured my youngest would like just drawing on this even though he obviously isn't old enough to trace things so there's that one for him and then another one of those find the sound books and then he loves stickers and he loves farm animals so i think he'll have a lot of fun with this one he's not gonna be able to do all the activities in this my daughter will probably finish them off but he'll just like grabbing the stickers and sticking them anywhere on the page but definitely not like a toddler based activity one but he'll color and like i said he'll put the sticker places and i don't care so there's that and then he really loves pj masks so i have this coloring book that he can just color on with his pencils and there's a ton of ones this is one of his favorites and we have some cheerios for the road trip when he just wants to do that and then i love the mess free markers because i don't worry about him coloring on anything or himself and these are two of his favorite characters so he has that so tons of stuff because it is about a 10 12 hour drive up and then about 10 or 12 hours back so i won't be using all this on the way up we'll be using some of it on the way back but it gives us a good variety all right so this is the one for my five and seven year old we have these road trip kits from ryan's world we got him at target i tried to hide them but my oldest one found them and he is really excited about them these portable fans that are chargeable they use the same charger our amazon tablets use so it's super easy but it has a bunch of different speeds that you can do for it and charge it and i have one for each of them just to use if they're in the car sometimes they just like to say they're hot even though the air is flowing back there and also for when we're walking around because these are easy and portable to stick inside of my bag so i got one for each of them and then i have these newbie pencil cases my daughter doesn't really care if they're erasable so she has just the plain crayola pencils and then my son loves being able to erase sweaty colors so he has the erasable ones then another pencil sharpener then my daughter loves unicorns so i thought this would be fun she was really into this minnie mouse one that we um that my mother-in-law gave her where she could put them on the scene so since this is kind of the same idea i thought she'd really like that and then my son is super into drawing so i thought this would be fun for him to learn a few different creatures that he could draw and add his own little flair to but just to give him some new ideas so it's just this pokemon drawing book then i got them each a sketchbook because my daughter is now really excited to draw which has been so fun because i'm sure it's since her brother is super into it so they each have a pretty nice sized sketchbook and that will entertain them most of the trip so not a ton of stuff in there for them there's a few things but they'll utilize this stuff on the way there and on the way back and they're pretty easy going so i am really excited about taking this bag on a road trip just because it has been one of the more durable vegan leather bags that i've had and also kids are super messy and i love love love that i can just throw this liner in with their clothes and things if it gets really dirty and gross and i don't have to worry about airing it out or doing it i'm going to actually bring my back up liner if i need to take this one out and then put a new one in and get it to being washed so yeah just super functional and great for road trips and just really easy to see inside which you guys will see so um i basically have everything i need inside of the car already so this is just if we're running into somewhere and on my mori june bag when we're going to parks and stuff but i have some boogie wipes here in the front as well as a mini first aid kit because i feel like if i have it they don't get hurt and when i don't we do so we have that there and then i have just a big old thing of germ x here on the side and a binky for her she usually likes the bibs one but i can sometimes get her to take the ryan rose but it's kind of a worst case scenario we've lost the other one and need it and then i have this fun little lippy clip to make my chapstick accessible and on this side i just have the strap for the mom bag that's inside the bag so it doesn't have to be in my bag but i can pull it out if i want to use the bag separately and then lastly in this pocket in the bag i have my um maiden change pad so it's nice and big and wipeable and most of the time we do our changes in the car so that's everything on the outside now for the inside i have about four size two diapers in this pocket three size six diapers in this pocket then i have about four of these um little toilet liners for my two kids if they need to go i have some diaper rash cream if i need it and then some bibs if we're eating something that's a little messier for my toddler and then another sort of mini first aid kit but this one's more with medicine and the um what's it called little snot sucker neosporin and nail clippers and things like that gripe water all that good stuff then i don't have anything back behind this but on the side in one of these bottle pockets i do have a thing of bags with their diapers really gross i always feel bad leaving it in an open trash can so i do bring the arm and hammer bags then i have this itsy ritzy wipes case and i also have a spare outfit in a planet-wise bag i might end up actually putting two in here but for now i only have the one with just a three-month onesie inside and then my favorite thing i literally use this bag all the time is the mom bag it just clips in here as you guys see and then i can hook a bag to it so what i love about this for vacation is i can have all of my stuff in here but if i just want to run somewhere by myself i can just take this and i know i'll have everything inside of it so inside of here you can see still tons of room i have my hair ties and things in here i have my limey a wallet some cheap sunglasses a straw my air pods uh some icebreakers some ibuprofen my keys and i think that's it so nice and roomy has all my stuff like i said i just really like being able to grab the strap and make this my own bag usually that's what i end up doing is keeping the strap on the inside but when i am utilizing it as a diaper bag it's nice just keeping it on the side and then when i want to grab it i just grab the strap too because i can see it so yeah that is everything as far as the diaper bag and a few of our little tips i'm hoping to show you guys the inside of our van before we leave but depending how crazy it is is how likely that's going to happen all right so my camera video is not working very well so i'm going to use my phone for this one but this is our setup in here they've already opened the um little container or whatever for them but they have all their stuff they have a cooler here that has a little lid that he can lift up and get stuff for them she'll have her little bright start things which i'll insert a picture here of her little setup then we have our igloo his activities and the snacks on the bottom then his car seat i always have my car bag and my diaper bag back up and then we have our little um baby zen stroller back behind her then our car has these two plugins so we have extra long cords for their amazon tablet and their um ipod then i'm small so i have my camera bag and my diaper bag here we have straw cups and bowls and paper towels and masks and clorox wipes and tons of extra bags just in case my bigger water bottle my headphones and chargers and sunglasses and then all their little electronics and stuff and then once i pass those out that's where i'm gonna stick this bottle stuff so yeah not the most organized thing in the world but it works well for us as far as the setup goes so hopefully that gives you guys an idea [Music] [Laughter] you”
