Welcome to a week in the life of me—a software engineer who’s also on vacation—bouncing around Italy with my family. We start in Rome literally in front of the Colosseum, putting in an insane amount of steps, running on gelato and cappuccinos, and just trying to soak in the city without me being “that guy” with a massive camera in everyone’s face. I also had us do a cooking class (which is hilarious because I don’t cook and I’m not even a big food person), and somehow we made it through fettuccine and ravioli without the kitchen catching on fire. In the middle of all the travel, I’m still handling my 9-to-5 responsibilities—unlimited vacation time is real, but the work still has to get done. We head to Venice and it genuinely hits me as one of the most beautiful, peaceful places I’ve ever been (Switzerland is the only city that gives me that same calm). I also talk through some real career stuff: my early coding consistency problem, switching jobs around the two-year mark, and my worst bout of impostor syndrome back in 2020. And since we’re creeping up on 100K, I pre-celebrate with a laptop giveaway and talk about where my channel is headed: less pure programming content, more lifestyle—while keeping the tech, AI, and family at the center.
