Fundrise VS M1 Finance REIT - 10 Month Investment Portfolio Update

I invested $1,000 into Fundrise and an M1 Finance REIT expert pie to find out which one would perform better. These are the results of my Fundrise vs REIT experiment. Fundrise is a crowdfunded REIT that allows you to invest in more expensive physical real estate for a small amount. I chose to invest my $1,000 into their "Balanced Portfolio" with the goal of receiving a return from dividends and appreciation. The minimum to invest with them is $500. M1 Finance is an investing platform that offers taxable investment accounts along with Roth IRAs and Traditional IRAs. They offer curated portfolios they call "Expert Pies". For this experiment, I chose to invest $1,000 into their REIT Expert Pie to see how it would perform. The minimum to invest in a taxable account is $100 and the minimum for an IRA is $500.
