The Strymon Fairfax is a raw, amp-like analog drive that feels more like you’re pushing an old circuit than stepping on a polished modern overdrive. The SAG control is the secret weapon—dial it up and it’ll get sputtery and gated like a cranked tweed flirting with fuzz, but it still stays usable. Even into my bright Twin Reverb, the bright switch never got painfully sharp, which is honestly impressive.
