In this video, I’m kicking off my first upcycle of the year with a fun little thrift-flip vibe—aka me figuring it out as I go and trying to turn something old into something I’ll actually wear. Even though I’m still a beginner sewist, I love starting the year with an easy win that gets me back into the groove and reminds me why I’m so obsessed with upcycle fashion in the first place. My whole goal with projects like this is to keep it wearable, keep it realistic, and keep it fun. I’m not here pretending everything is perfect—I’m learning in real time, making choices based on what I have, and trying to get the most out of a piece instead of letting it sit in a thrift pile.
