Changing the differential fluid on my first generation Toyota Tacoma. 2001 If you have a older truck that is up in the rust belt I would HIGHLY recommend using an impact gun because you have a good chance of stripping it out with the 10mm hex socket. Remove the fill plug first to ensure you can fill it back up. The front differential fill and drain plug is 10mm hex socket. The rear differential fill and drain plug is 24mm. You'll also need a 10mm with extension and a 13mm to remove the skid plates. The oil type is 75W-90 , GL-5. This 2001 Toyota Tacoma calls for 2.8ish quarts in the rear and 1.4 ish for the front. I just filled until it starts running out. You can add the rear diff fluid by bottle, but the front may be easier to have a hand pump.
