We’ve been silent for almost a month on YouTube, and it didn’t feel all right—so in this Trail Update we tell you what’s been going on up here in Jokkmokk, Swedish Lapland. After Christmas and New Year we had a crazy period with tours (non-stop for almost two weeks), met a lot of people, and we got really sick. We were in bed for more than two and a half weeks and had to cancel tours for the first time ever in my career (since 1993), which honestly felt terrible. We also want to say a big thank you to the guests who handled it with so much kindness—because that made a hard situation easier. Now I’m back out again, packing the sleds and running the first longer tour of the season—filming, editing, and uploading from the trail with just my iPhone. I show you a bit of real winter camp life: drilling for water, making a fire, coffee and tea, and the routines with the dogs. We also talk about the conditions (it’s “warm” at -7°C, after a very cold January) and the team setup—plus a small challenge: my only female in the team came in heat out here.
