Creating a whimsical tiki painting out of acrylics as a surprise birthday present. Quarantine has created huge challenges in many ways but I never thought making this birthday present would be one of them. Will I manage to get it done without Jonathan finding out?! Here, instead of the usual digital painting, I went for acrylics on cardboard and show you the ENTIRE process of creation: from thumbnails to the finishing touches with colored pencils. Tiki is a fun subculture where you get transported into a fantastical vacation world with a tropical drink in hand.
