In this video I put two popular rechargeable book lights head-to-head: the Glocusent and the 86Lux. They’re both compact, clip-on style lights with multiple brightness levels and adjustable color temperatures, so on paper they look really similar. What I focus on is the stuff that actually changes the day-to-day experience—how the designs feel in use, how the buttons are laid out, and how easy it is to switch modes while you’re half-asleep reading in bed. I also compare the practical performance points: brightness options, color temperature choices, battery/charging, and—big one—the way each light spreads LEDs across the page. That LED spread is what decides whether you get a nice even wash of light or a brighter hotspot that can make the edges of the page harder to read. By the end, I break down who should pick the Glocusent (especially if you care about features like a memory function) versus who should go with the 86Lux if you want a sleeker, simpler design for straightforward nightly reading.
