Those are a few of the questions this video will answer / I also want to know your thoughts, so comment down below - Enjoy! ► More on Instagram! https://www.instagram.com/hishamzkhan There has been a huge debate on student loan cancellation because it’s a burdeon shared by over 45 million people and with unemployment numbers at record highs the crisis is only worsening. Its no doubt that 1.6 trillion dollars of student loan debt is bad for the country and economy. If a horrific thing like a pandemic happened and millions of people defaulted on their student loans the economy would be in shambles. That's exactly why the government has cancelled interest and paused payments on all federal student loans until OCTOBER. Here is your student loan cancellation update: Pausing payments only delays the fact that millions more people will default on their loans, its only a temporary fix, so Democrats have been pushing for student loan forgiveness to be included in the next stimulus package. They start off propsing 30,000 in forgiveness which is the average amount held by student loan borrowers. But they wuickly realized such a proposal would be impossoible to get through the senate. They changed their propsal to be a bit more reasonable, cancelling just 10,000 for everybody, but that didnt go anywhere so it was changed to 10K cancelled for only those who are in financially difficulty meaning they are currently in default or dont have the income to support their loans Joe Biden’s who wants to cancel $10K of student loans, for everybody. And that might actually have a huge impact because half of borrowers in default owe less than $10,000. Now will student loans ever be cancelled? Not until both parties can agree on the importance and how to pay for student loan cancellation. Here is what I think is likelly to happen, We are going to see thr student loan break that canclled interest and posponed payments extended. It probably wont be a full year like prosed but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few extra months. Even if student loan forgiveness is [assed it will take years to implement. You CANNOT count on your student loans being cancelled, so How do i pay off my student loans? You might be wondering. The fact that there is no interest and student loans payments are postponed means this is the easiest time to pay off your student loans. Save your entire monthly payment plus anything extra. Once student loan payments start up again put this lump sum towards them and make a huge dent in your student loans.
