I tested the Scythe Fuma 3 because on AM4, if you want to undervolt and push PBO higher, you need real temperature headroom. It’s a dual-tower air cooler that stays extremely quiet, fits easily, and doesn’t fight with tall RAM or the VRM heatsink. For a “budget” build, it’s one of the few upgrades that’s genuinely money well spent versus a stock cooler.

- +Very quiet under load (quieter than the GPU in my build)
- +Easy installation with a RAM/VRM-friendly design
- +Gives meaningful thermal headroom for undervolting/PBO gains
Cons
- -Costs extra versus a stock cooler (roughly +$40 in my case)
- -Not the absolute cheapest option if you’re cutting every corner
