Trail Gaiters I Actually Use // Race Setups, Installs & Comparisons

Trail gaiters might be one of the most overlooked pieces of trail running gear — until you hit dusty, rocky, sandy, or debris-filled trails during a long run or ultra. In this video, I go through the trail gaiters currently in my rotation, comparing different attachment systems, fit styles, durability, and shoe compatibility. From minimalist lightweight options to more secure race-ready setups, I break down what works best for me out on the trails here in Idaho. I test and compare gaiters from brands including Altra, Trado, Kailas, and prototype Mount to Coast options, while also discussing integrated gaiter-style designs found on shoes from Hoka, Mount to Coast, Topo, and Altra. I cover different mounting systems including Velcro, front hooks, rear hook-and-loop setups, button systems, and multi-point attachment designs — plus what I like and dislike about each approach after using many of these in ultras and hundred milers.
