Madrid to Palencia HIGH SPEED Train Spain’s Hidden City

At 156 mph on a high-speed train from Madrid to Palencia, Spain, we crossed the Spanish countryside toward one of the most overlooked cities in Castile and León — and a reunion more than 40 years in the making. This Madrid to Palencia train journey took us from the heart of Madrid, Spain through the vast plains of northern Spain, including views of the Sierra de Guadarrama mountains, before arriving in historic Palencia Spain. Traveling at 251 km/h (156 mph), we share what it’s like riding a Spain high-speed train, what to expect at the Madrid train station, and how smooth and comfortable Spain rail travel can be — even during a surprise snow whiteout along the way. But this trip wasn’t just about scenery.
