Rescues are misunderstood

A drop loop gives you mechanical advantage but what if you put a Petzl Protraxion on both sides. Is that still a 2:1? If people pull on both sides, that is 2 inputs but that just gives you a 1:1 speed with the benefit of a 2:1 mechanical advantage. Pull testing a double protraxion drop loop resulted in 12.38kn for our 8mm Sterling AR Tac 8mm and 15.39kN for 3/8" (9.5mm) Sterling Tactical Response but does any of that matter? If your load is pulling 12kN, sure, that's problem, but if you pull with a lot of people on the tail, that does something entirely different.
