I’m not an expert in regards to variegated plant care, I’m just learning but I thought I would share with you what I have learned and take you with me on my own journey of discovery! Variegation is not a normal state for a plant so left to its own devices it will slowly revert back to a green plant, but fear not there are things that can be done to keep the variegation. They need the green in the leaves to be able to photosynthesize and create energy for the plant and without that, they would die. Although the white on the leaves is very pretty some green is always necessary to ensure the health of the plant. More light doesn’t make a difference to the variation, it's better for the clarity of the white. Each plant only has so much variegation in its cells, and you can’t make it have more. You can prune to encourage the variegated leaves but not create more on a stem that has little.
