A great way to make use of your old coffee grounds and keep a little waste out of the landfill is to use it as houseplant food. It's high in Nitrogen and houseplants such as Aspidistra shown in this video will appreciate the slow-release nutrients that will feed the plant during the growing season. Be sure to mix it into your houseplant soil so it breaks down slowly over time rather than sitting wet on top of the surface where it can potentially block the moisture and possibly grow fungus. If you can't mix it into your houseplant soil then you can add it to your garden compost and then once it's broken down, add the well-rotted compost to your houseplant as a top dressing. Alternatively, you can brew yourself some compost tea by simply adding the coffee grounds to a bucket of water and letting the nutrients seep out, just make sure it's well diluted and not too strong when feeding your houseplants.
