Calathea Picturata Care Guide & Species Spotlight ~ Argentea This little Calathea came home with me after a visit to my local garden centre, it's small but at only £2.99 or $4.15, it was too good to refuse! I often prefer to buy my houseplants small and enjoy watching them grow into big mature adult plants, its also much, much cheaper than buying them at full size. A mature Calathea Picturata would probably cost upwards of £15.00 or $20.00 USD so you can save quite a bit buy buying them small. Also, if you want a challenge and try to grow the more fussy "advanced plants like some of these Calathea then you won't have much to lose if it doesn't make it!
