Welcome to my weekly tomato garden update! This week, I'm sharing the progress of my tomato plants, including a scare where I thought I might lose a few. Thankfully, a simple trick using aquarium water brought them right back to life. I also discuss my pruning methods, where I deep-plant the tomatoes to encourage strong root growth, leaving only the top few limbs. It's been a learning experience, but seeing them bounce back has been incredibly rewarding. I'm also conducting an experiment this season, testing different amendments at the base of each plant. I'm using eggs, sardines, kitchen scraps, compost, and two different microbial products, Mykos and Great White. So far, the Great White plant is significantly larger, but it's also a different variety, so I'm curious to see how the other plants catch up. My goal is to find the best way to improve my tomato yields for future seasons. I've also installed an automated irrigation system to ensure consistent watering, especially with the nutrient-rich fish water I'm using.
