Happy Day 24 of Vlogmas and merry Christmas Eve (well… Christmas Eve Eve for me while I’m filming). Today is one of those cozy-but-busy prep days where I’m trying to get everything done before family comes over tomorrow. I’m pre-making my family’s lasagna (meat sauce, cheesy layers, the whole thing), crossing my fingers my almond paste delivery shows up so I can finish my pinoli cookies, and I’m also squeezing in editing because the vlog still has to go up. I walk you through how I build my lasagna step-by-step: onion and fresh garlic first, then I brown a mix of sausage and ground beef with Italian seasoning, and I use Hunts Four Cheese pasta sauce to bring it all together. For the ricotta layer, I mix in parsley (super fine), an egg so it spreads easier, and I grate parmesan for extra flavor. I keep my noodles al dente since the lasagna bakes again, and I assemble it in layers—plus I make a big pan for tomorrow, a smaller one for my parents, and a tiny mini one for me because it’s just too cute. Between wrapping gifts (with my favorite festive ribbon moment), doing my advent calendars, and having Netflix/White Christmas on in the background, it’s basically the definition of a Christmas prep day. I end the night snuggled on the sofa, ready for the final day of Vlogmas tomorrow.
