Prepare the strawberries Slice or halve the berries. Set aside in a large bowl. 2. Make the thick syrup In a large pot combine: sugar Clear Jel salt cold water Stir well so there are no lumps. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and begins to bubble. 3. Add lemon juice Stir in the bottled lemon juice and cook 1 minute longer. 4. Add strawberries Fold strawberries gently into the hot syrup. Heat until everything is hot but not boiling hard. 5. Fill jars Pack mixture into hot jars leaving: 1 inch headspace Remove air bubbles. Wipe rims and apply lids. 6. Water bath process Process jars in a boiling water bath canner: Jar Size Time Pints or Quarts 30 minutes (Add time if you are above 1,000 ft elevation.)
