This 1U Supermicro server/chassis is the whole reason this build is even possible: it’s compact, efficient, and still gives me usable expansion. I like these smaller Supermicro boxes, and this one had the right slot layout to squeeze in a GPU plus an HBA with some careful planning.

- -No native PCIe GPU power connectors in the chassis/backplane
- -Tight space makes airflow and cable routing more critical
