I went with 32GB of DDR4-2400 ECC UDIMM (2x16GB) because I want this node to be boring and stable. ECC UDIMM can be a little “interesting” to find, but it’s worth it for a server that’s going to run nonstop.

- +ECC helps catch memory errors for better stability
- +32GB is plenty for a lightweight storage node
Cons
- -ECC UDIMM availability/pricing can be inconsistent
- -Not necessary for every homelab build if budget is tight
