The LSI 9207-8e is the PCIe Gen 3 SAS HBA I’m using here, and it’s a great fit when you need external SAS ports for an expander or disk shelf. I like it because it’s straightforward to run in IT mode and it gives you a big bandwidth bump over older PCIe Gen 2 cards.
