🟢phd student day in the life 🟢imposter syndrome _________________________________ Welcome to today's day in the life vlog of a phd student! Like many a PhD student, there isn't a week that goes by in my life right now, that doesn't feature a day (or two) of imposter syndrome. I've realised by now that it is simply part of the PhD student experience, and in order to support you guys and figure out how to help myself deal with it, I've included my experience with it today as well as a few practices that often help the feelings of feeling like an aboslute fraud somewhat diminish. It can't just be me right? Let us know your own experiences with imposter syndrome, and how you've tackled it yourself. Hugs from NY, Holly x ____________________________________ Notion Reflecting and Journalling Template https://habitual-soursop-047.notion.site/Daily-Log-Planning-and-Reflecting-e69f741aa72d48269a71c1f03c864829 ____________________________________ TIMESTAMPS 00:00 - 01:31 - Introduction 00:31 - 03:35 - Journalling and Reflection 03:35 - 04:47 - Find your PhD Tribe 04:49 - 05:20 - Fail to prepare/plan... 05:20 - 06:14 - A Brief Monologue 06:14 - 08:18 - Exercise 08:20 - 08:38 - Other daily bits and bobs 08:38 - end - Final thoughts ____________________________________ ✨ FAQ How old are you? About This Video

In this PhD student day in the life, I’m bringing you along for a very real week-day in Manhattan where imposter syndrome is, frankly, just… there. I talk about how it shows up for me in the middle of research and normal life admin, and why I’ve come to accept that it’s basically part of the PhD student experience (annoying, but true). If you’ve ever had that "I’m an absolute fraud" feeling while trying to do your work, this one is for you. I walk through a few things that genuinely help me when the spiral starts: journalling and reflection (I share the exact Notion template I use), finding your PhD tribe so you’re not alone in your own head, and the boring-but-life-saving idea of planning ahead so you’re not constantly playing catch-up. I also chat about movement/exercise as a reset button, and I end with some final thoughts that I hope feel like a hug—because you’re not the only one dealing with this.
