I begin my trip to the iconic Lower Rio Grande Valley Region of South Texas looking for some specialty birds. The Lower Rio Grande Valley is well known in the birding community for having a host of specialty birds. Since it is on the border of Mexico and the United States, and it lies quite far south compared to most of the US, there are many birds who's range only extends into this small region in the US. In simpler terms, there are many birds where this is the only reliable location to see them in the United States. It's the northern most point of their range. I found so many birds on this first day, and I can't wait to bring you more episodes from this trip. 📷 Checkout the Gear I Use: - https://www.hawkinthelens.com/my-gear 🔗 Check out my other pages!
