Redman Campground is a Salt Lake City local birding hotspot. What better way to check it out than actually camping there for a full weekend! eBird Trip Report https://ebird.org/tripreport/402996?view=checklists Redman Campground is located up Big Cottonwood Canyon near Salt Lake City. It's high elevation and mountain habitat makes it a premier summer birding hotspot for birders looking to escape the heat in the city itself. There are also potential rarities like American Three-toed Woodpecker, American Goshawk, and White-winged Crossbill which were my three main targets while I spent a weekend there. It also is located to many great hikes at Brighton and Solitude ski resort, along with Silver Lake Recreation area that offer many other birding hotspots nearby.
