I used two cheap TeamGroup SATA SSDs as mirrored boot drives for TrueNAS Scale. They’re nothing fancy, but for boot media they get the job done without wasting budget that’s better spent on storage. I also liked that I could just toss them in bays using caddies and avoid extra internal mounting hassle.
